The book written on the occasion of the 7th centenary (2012) of the discovery of the Canary Islands by Lanzarotto Malocello. This is the orgin of name "Lanzarote" to one of the islands of that Atlantic Archipelago. Drawing on the scarce remaining sources, the author frames the origins and the work of that Ligurian navigator including the description of the populations found in the archipelago (the Guanches) and the literary appeal exercised by those "Happy Islands".
