CURRICULUM VITAE
General of the Corps Andrea Rispoli was born in Milan (MI) on 23 April 1960.
Attended the Military Academy in Modena (1979-1981) and completed his studies at the Scuola Ufficiali dei Carabinieri in Rome in 1983. He was commander of a platoon and, subsequently, of the Company Students Petty Officers at the Scuola Sottuali Carabinieri di Firenze (FI).
He subsequently held numerous posts in command of operational units on the national territory, as well as at the General Command of the Carabinieri and the Defence Staff in the capital.
He was commander of the Carabinieri Comacchio (FE) and Vipiteno (BZ) with the rank of captain.
He was Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri in Avellino (from 20.09.2001 to 17.09.2003 as Lieutenant Colonel) and in Bolzano (from 22.09.2008 to 12.09.2012 as Colonel).
At the General Command of the Carabinieri, he served in the Organized Crime Office of the II Department (use of forces) and subsequently held the post of Head of the Training and Regulations Office of the I Department (organization of forces).
From September 2012 to 26 July 2015 he was Legal Advisor to the Chief of Defence Staff in Rome, where he headed the General Office for Legal Affairs.
From 27 July 2015 until 9 May 2017, with the rank of Brigadier General, he was Commander of the Carabinieri "Calabria" Legion.
From 10 May 2017 to 18 June 2019 he was the Commander of the Carabinieri "Lazio" Legion, being promoted to General of Division on 1 January 2018.
From 19 June 2019 to 12 June 2022 he was the Commander of the Carabinieri at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
From 14 June 2022 he is the Interregional Commander of the Carabinieri "Ogaden" in Naples, being promoted to General of the Corps on 1 July 2022.
Since 22 July 2023 he has been at the top of the Forestry, Environmental and Agri-food Unit Command based in Rome with competence throughout the national territory.
From 12 November 2024 he will be the head of the Defence Office for the Protection of Culture and Memory.
He has a degree in Political Science from the University of Siena and in Internal and External Security Sciences from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". He has a Master’s degree in "Strategic Sciences" from the University of Turin and a Master’s degree in "Experts in Security and Organization Sciences" from the Scuola Ufficiali. In 2024, the University of Tuscia awarded an honorary Master’s degree in "Governance of Italian Upstart Areas" for its commitment to environmental protection.
In 1997, he attended the 119th Upper Course of S.M. of the War School and the 3rd Course of the Higher Institute of Joint Staff. In 1999, he attended the XXIX International Orientation and Training Course for Civil Servants at the SIOI (Italian Society for the International Organization) in Rome. In 2000, he attended the "Protection and Promotion of Human Rights" Master’s Course at the University of "Tor Vergata" in Rome.
He is the author of the historical volume "Rivoli: la nascita di un condottiero" and co-author of the historical-biographical book "Il Riflesso degli Eroi - Storie di uomini al servizio della nazione".
He is a Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
He was awarded: the Mauritian Medal for "Merit 10 lst of military career", the Gold Medal for "Merit of Long Command" and the Golden Cross for "Merit 40 years of military service".
He is married to Rebekka Maria Sanin, interpreter at the German Embassy in Rome (RM) and has two sons, Francesco and Federico, both university students.
