The NATO AIRCOM HQ Team from Ramstein (Germany), led by Lt. Col. Jonathan LAATSCH (US Air Force), was welcomed by the Commander of the Joint Air Operations School, Brigadier General Glauco Luigi MORA, and by his closest collaborators.
The Team, accompanied by Col. Enrico MARINELLI, head of the Joint Effects and Targeting Division of Italian Joint Operations Headquarters , paid a visit to the Joint Air Operations School for the renewal of the accreditation of the national Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) program.
The Team was shown the training offer of the School in the training areas of competence, with particular regard to the courses provided for the training of personnel in the JTAC supply chain, from the initial qualification, to the subsequent skills of Instructor and Evaluator of personnel on the way to becoming JTAC.
Subsequently, the Team visited the JTAC simulator, appreciating its teaching capacity in the training phase for simulated flight attitude guides, as well as for the use of realistic equipment as in operations.
On the sidelines of the visit, HQ NATO AIRCOM Team expressed full approval of the activities conducted by the Joint Air Operations School within the Italian JTAC program and the simulator, finding it fully compliant with the STANAG (Standard Agreement) of reference, reconfirming, therefore, the accreditation within NATO.
“Excellent work!”: These are the closing words of the AIRCOM Team in the report drawn up during the evaluation visits of the Italian JTAC program.
