As part of the 2022 educational offer, the Joint Air Operations School of Guidonia has been organized the first edition of the Air to Surface Integration (ATOSI) Conference, directed at the commanders of operational units of the Italian Armed Forces, in the rank of Colonel and Brigadier General and equivalent.
The conference was divided into two days of work, with speeches and reports by speakers from various single-service and Joint Forces Commands/Bodies and by the Commanders of the Component Commands of the Armed Forces or their representatives. As highlighted in the opening of the works by Brigadier General Glauco Luigi MORA, Commander of the Joint Air Operations School, the purpose of the conference was to "provide a qualified audience of Commanders with an all-encompassing vision of the capabilities, skills and peculiarities of the operational components of the individual Armed Forces, as well as on the need for integration and interoperability in a multi-domain context".
The objective of the ATOSI Conference was to encourage the creation of an open and participatory network of expertise for the sharing of experiences, lessons learned and best practices, to improve and enhance mutual knowledge, integration and interoperability between the various Components (Air-Land-Maritime-SOF), in order to optimize the effort in joint/combined operations.
Particularly valuable were the speeches by Division General Andrea DI STASIO, Commander of the Italian Army Aviation Command who spoke for the attributions of the LCC (Land Component Command), by Division Admiral Vincenzo MONTANARO, Commander of the 2ns Naval Division of Taranto , who presented the point of view of the MCC (Maritime Component Command), of the Air Division General Claudio GABELLINI, Commander of the Aerospace Operations Command of Poggio Renatico, who proposed the vision of the ACC (Air Component Command) and of Colonel Andrea BANDIERI, Chief of Staff of the Joint Command for Special Forces Operations, who closed the series of speeches by talking about the SOCC (Special Ops Component Command).
