HAS BEEN COMPLITED THE SECOND EDITION OF ADVANCED REMOTE SENSING COURSE FOR NATO COUNTRIES

Confirming the international vocation of the Joint Air Operations School, four operators from NATO countries and Partnership for Peace has completed the training process in Guidonia for the production of reports on civil and military objectives, by analyzing remote sensing images from sources multisensor.

Four attendees from Switzerland, Slovakia, Croatia and Lithuania completed the attendance of the second edition of the Advanced Remote Sensing Course (ARS), which began on 6th June and aimed at providing the knowledge and skills for the editorial staff operational analysis reports, aimed at recognizing and describing military and civilian targets, using digital images from different airfield and satellite sensors.

The course, entirely held in english lengauge and designed, in-house, by the Remote Sensing Courses Command of the Joint Force Institute, specifically for NATO and PfP (Partnership for Peace) countries, is part of the second training phase of the cycle envisaged for Analysts of 'Image; in fact, he follows Initial Remote Sensing (IRS), and is also preparatory for admission to the subsequent Synthetic Aperture Radar Imagery Interpretation (SAR II) course.

In fact, through this course, the attendant acquires the knowledge and techniques of operational analysis of remote sensing images, for the identification, description and analysis of objectives not only military (weapon systems and installations), but also civilian of strategic interest, such as types of land and communication lines, ports and airports, plants for the production of electricity, industrial installations, specific structures and urban areas.

The ARS course is also certified "Approved" by NATO and included in the Education and Training Opportunities Catalog (ETOC), the catalog of certified courses offered by ACT (Allied Command for Transformation), the Supreme Command based in Norfolk, Virginia (USA), responsible for the formation, doctrine and transformation of NATO's military instrument.
