Nineteen soldiers coming from various departments of the Italian Armed Forces and the Financial Police, has been successfully concluded the 33rd RSO (Remote Sensing Operator) course whose objective is to provide the essential information for the recognition, treatment and processing of remotely sensed images, with particular reference to digital ones coming from different types of airborne and satellite sensors.
In the remote sensing sector, this initial professionalism is preparatory to higher level courses aimed at acquiring the qualifications of "Interpreter" and "Military Analyst" of remote sensing images.
Due to the increased needs of the Armed Forces for operators with these specific characteristics, the training offer of the Guidonia Joint Forces Institute has been increased, with an expansion of the courses provided annually and an increased availability of attendees for each course.
Also at the Joint Air Operations School, some of the operators trained in this session will continue their professional training in the sector, attending the subsequent RSI and RSMA (Remote Sensing Interpreter and Remote Sensing Military Analyst) courses aimed at providing the skills for extracting data from remote sensing images, through processes of treatment of the same and photo-interpretation and operational analysis.
