
17th WEAPON SYSTEMS RECOGNITION COURSE AT THE JOINT AIR OPERATIONS SCHOOL
Training to identify and recognize the main weapon systems from common and amateur images.

18th attendees to the Army, the Air Force and Carabinieri, have successfully passed the 17th WSR Course (Weapon Systems Recognition) held at the Joint Air Operations School of Guidonia (RM).
The course, lasting about one month, provides students with the skills and methods of research and analysis of the characteristic elements to identify and recognize the main land, naval and air weapon systems, as well as logistical means and operational support in use by the Armed Forces of the main countries of the world, starting from images and videos acquired by common sensors, such as cameras, mobile phones or video cameras, from an amateur and "familiar" shooting point to normal natural vision. Therefore, images not remotely sensed by satellite or aerial platforms.
The course is intended for personnel belonging to all the Armed Forces not yet qualified as an Image Analyst and constitutes one of the training steps of the professional profile of "Operational Information Officer (A.I.O.)" of the Air Force personnel.
