Friday 25th March, 18 attendants, coming from various departments of the Army, Navy and Air Force, to the Joint Air Operations School (JAOS) in Guidonia, have achieved the necessary skills to be employed in operational information acquisition branches, as well as the basic knowledge in the field of Remote Sensing focusing on the image interpretation and analysis.
In two weeks of intensive training, the School has provided basic knowledge to attendees, on principles, techniques and applications in order to exploit remotely sensed images, coming from airborne and satellite electro-optical and RADAR sensors, for operational intelligence purposes. Furthermore, exclusively for Italian Air Force personnel, the R.S. Intro is a required step for the training profile for "Operational Information Personnel". The course allows the attendant to achieve fundamental knowledge and skills, to learn the use of analog and digital cartographic products and to acquire basic notions on principles, purposes and capabilities of Remote Sensing, geospatial applications, main types of sensors for electro-optical and digital images and image analysis techniques.
