Did you know that the Defense sector, through the Air Force, helps ensure the National Meteorological Service?
Among its many activities, it provides:
weather forecasts available to everyone;
atmospheric monitoring for climate studies;
information for the safety of air navigation;
monitoring of “space weather” (for example, solar phenomena that can affect satellites and communications);
forecasts on the dispersion of volcanic ash.
