The night rehearsal along Via dei Fori Imperiali concluded the preparations for the parade that will characterize the ceremony for the 79th Anniversary of Republic Day.
Monday, the 2nd of June at 9:15 a.m., President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, accompanied by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, will honour the Altar of the Fatherland with the laying of a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Memorial.
Units deployed along Via di San Gregorio for the review will then be presented to the authorities, before the start of the traditional Military Parade along Via dei Fori Imperiali, whose theme this year will be “Defending the Republic, Serving the Country”.
A theme that fully reflects the meaning of the day, joining two fundamental concepts:
“Defending the Republic” recalls the commitment of the Italian Armed Forces to protect the democratic institutions and constitutional principles, underscoring the value of defending the cornerstones of the Italian Republic.
“Serving the Country” highlights the day-by-day dedication of the Men and Women of the Defence in the service of the national community, recalling that the Republic is there to serve its citizens.
The live streaming of the celebration will be broadcast on the Defence social channels and official site at www.difesa.it.
