Today, in the presence of President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella and Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, the ceremony for the launch of the Trieste Navy Ship and Swearing-In Ceremony for the 150 Cadets of the Navy Academy has taken place onboard the Naval Unit.
“This is your ship, built for you and our country. For the first time, the swearing-in ceremony of Navy cadets takes place aboard a military ship. The Trieste Navy Ship is the product of the work of thousands of people: engineers, technicians, workers. Only a handful of nations c an build a “work of the intellect” and high technology product like this one, based on history, knowledge , advanced technology. But a empty ship is just a tool: you, are its heart, with your values, ideals and team spirit. Today you swear to serve the country, making the Armed Forces a unique, special institution, as it happens at every Swearing-In Ceremony. To your families I say: the Defence is a new family for your children, and it will never let them down”.
Thus Minister Crosetto in his speech at the ceremony, attended by representatives of the Institutions and civilian, military and religious authorities, as well as representatives of the industry
