The Military Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, Dr. Maurizio Block, received a delegation of Armenian judges, led by the Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan, at Palazzo Cesi.
As part of the international judicial cooperation that began in 2023 with the signing of a statement of intent with the Prosecutor General's Office at the Court of Cassation, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the military judiciaries of the two countries. This memorandum emphasizes the shared commitment to pursuing common goals, such as the independence of the judiciary, the fight against crime, and the improvement of their respective legal systems.
The necessity and usefulness of concrete technical-legal cooperation was therefore highlighted, aiming to foster the realization of future joint projects. In particular, the agreement defines the implementation methods in various areas, including magistrates’ training, the exploration of topics of common interest, and the exchange of experiences within their respective legal systems. This will also involve the exchange of information and direct visits to strengthen the understanding of each other's legal systems.
The Armenian delegation also visited the Military Court of Appeal, the Military Judicial Council, and the Court of Cassation.
The events were attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia, Vladimir Karapetyan, the Vice President of the Military Judicial Council, Pietro Laffranco, and the Armenian Consul, Gagik Sarucanian.
