"The future belongs not to those with the most weapons, but to those with the greatest vision.
Unity, innovation, resilience. These are the guiding principles that must steer the transformation of the Air Force and, more broadly, of all the Armed Forces. This evolution is necessary to anticipate challenges, integrate air, space, and cyber capabilities, accelerate decision-making processes, and strengthen operational effectiveness.
We need Armed Forces that are ready, interoperable, and capable of sharing experiences and expertise, supported by a robust, responsive, and innovative industrial base.
The aerospace sector can lead the way. The experience of the F-35 program and the Cameri industrial hub demonstrates how international cooperation can generate not only operational capabilities but also industrial, technological, and logistical expertise of strategic value. This approach should be leveraged within the GCAP, which must become a model for other major international programs as well. The challenge is to drive change, not to be at its mercy. This is the responsibility of the Italian Air Force’s leadership: to preserve the excellence we have achieved, but also to have the courage to evolve, anticipate transformations, and face the challenges of tomorrow.
We must stay the course and convey to all the Armed Forces the sense of urgency and responsibility that this historic moment demands of us. Because in times of crisis, when everything is in flux, the Armed Forces represent the backbone of the country—a steadfast pillar in defense of democracy, our institutions, and the safety of our citizens.”
So said Defense Minister Guido Crosetto during his remarks at the Italian Air Force’s “Seminar for Brigadier Generals.”
