Two Eurofighter F-2000s from the Italian Air Force’s Task Force Air “Baltic Thunder III”, engaged in NATO’s air-policing mission on the Alliance’s eastern flank, were scrambled following a violation of Latvian airspace by a drone.
The Italian crews intercepted the unmanned aircraft and proceeded to shoot it down in accordance with NATO procedures.
