The Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto, during his official visit to Saudi Arabia, held a productive meeting with H.E. Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi, Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“During the talks, appreciation was expressed for the quality of relations between our countries, particularly for the recent cooperation launched in the defence industry sector, with the hope of further strengthening partnerships across all fields, starting with the aerospace, naval and underwater domains,” said Minister Crosetto, highlighting the shared willingness to explore opportunities for cooperation in the critical raw materials sector.
During the meeting, a “general desire to strengthen ties, with attention to ongoing crises and the objective of promoting lasting security and stability in the region,” also emerged.
In Riyadh, Minister Crosetto also met with the President and Founder of the Gulf Research Center, Dr. Abdulaziz Sager.
The meeting represented an important opportunity for discussion on issues of common interest, including regional security and the main ongoing crises. Particular attention was devoted to the importance of cooperation and cohesion among the countries of the Arabian Peninsula in order to prevent a further escalation of tensions linked to the Iranian crisis.
The strengthening of cooperation in strategic sectors for both countries was also encouraged.
