“Cordial and productive meeting with His Excellency Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Qatar, a country of significance for regional stability and a leading actor in the Middle Eastern context. I expressed solidarity for the suffering endured by the Qatari people and for the damage inflicted on strategic and energy infrastructure by Iranian attacks. Doha has historically played a highly significant mediating role and continues to stand out, even in other crises, as a pragmatic and reliable interlocutor, as well as a committed supporter of dialogue and negotiated solutions. We shared the intention to strengthen the bond of friendship between our countries, to work together for peace in the Middle East—a region whose dynamics have a decisive impact on our security and our economy—and to further consolidate the excellent cooperation between our Armed Forces and in the defense industry sector.”
