Minister Guido Crosetto, on an official visit to Norway, held a cordial and constructive meeting with his Norwegian counterpart, Tore O. Sandvik.
"We shared a clear commitment to giving continuity and new vigor to bilateral relations in the Defense sector, laying the foundations for closer and ongoing cooperation between Italy and Norway.
Focus on the growing strategic relevance of the Arctic and the High North for Euro-Atlantic security, freedom of navigation, and the protection of critical infrastructure. Italy’s commitment was confirmed, also through participation in NATO’s Forward Land Forces (FLF), joint exercises, and research and innovation initiatives.
We shared the need to build a stronger European Defense, complementary to NATO, capable of taking on greater responsibilities and overcoming current fragmentations through the development of common capabilities, shared standards, and greater integration among the Armed Forces, industry, and research.
Particular attention to integrated air defense, the Cyber and Space domains, the maritime domain with a focus on the underwater dimension, and opportunities to strengthen investments and industrial cooperation". So Minister Crosetto.
