Niscemi Landslide Emergency: President Mattarella’s Greeting to the Military Personnel Supporting the Population

The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, during his visit to Niscemi, greeted the military personnel engaged in supporting the local population.

“I thank President Mattarella; his closeness to the population represents a point of reference for everyone. His greeting to our service members, working side by side with citizens, honors us and serves as a strong reminder as well as valuable encouragement to always do more and do better.
The Ministry of Defence remains close to the community of Niscemi, protecting and assisting it. I confirm the full availability of Armed Forces personnel and equipment to continue supporting the population.”
So stated the Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto.

The Army Corps of Engineers continues its work to ensure road access to the town center, where personnel from the “Strade Sicure” operation and the Carabinieri are still operating to guarantee citizens’ safety and safeguard evacuated homes.
