While navigating between Honolulu and Tokyo, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, onboard Navy Sailship Vespucci, first-year cadets from the Leghorn Navy Academy chose their course’s name: Okeanos.
Okeanos, a figure from Greek mythology, the Titan who surrounds the world, was the name they chose as their emblem, a symbol of power and infinity.
Following three intense days of retirement and collective work, the young cadets consolidated their group identity, creating a motto that fully represents them and their flag, that was proudly raised on the pennon of the mast.
