"March 18, 2020 is not just a simple date, but the sad symbol of the beginning of one of the toughest challenges in our recent history, a painful chapter for our country and for the entire world: the Covid-19 pandemic.
An insidious threat, against which doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, and many public servants have tirelessly given their all, ensuring assistance and safety. Among them, the women and men of the Defense, who have been engaged from the very first moment in supporting, helping, and protecting the population.
Today, we pay tribute to all the victims and express our deepest respect and sympathy to their families.
The memory of what happened and of those who are no longer with us continues to guide our commitment."
