Defence Minister Guido Crosetto today, in the afternoon, met with the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Tunisia, Khaled Sehili at Palazzo Esercito.
“A cordial, productive meeting with friend and colleague from Tunisia, Khaled Sehili. A valuable opportunity to deepen cooperation and seek further forms of collaboration, also in the sector of Defence, In light of the historical friendship and strong cooperation relationship between our two nations, based on mutual trust, shared views and common objectives. I expressed Italy’s full appreciation for Tunisia’s centrality and relevance in the security and economic dynamics in the context of the Mediterranean region, Sahel and North Africa: areas of high strategic interest. The Italian Government, through the Mattei Plan, wants to promote a new synergy, based on equal relations and mutual recognition. Italy’s and Europe’s security is connected to Africa’s security, economic development and stability.
