The focus was on strengthening the strategic dialogue between Italy and India on key international security issues, with particular attention to stability in the Indo-Pacific, maritime security, freedom of navigation, and the protection of energy and trade routes.

A shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in the defense industry sector and a confirmed willingness to expand collaboration in defense and security across all operational, training, and exercise domains."

So stated Defense Minister Guido Crosetto during his official visit to India. “Toward a National Security Strategy”

 

Minister Guido Crosetto will meet with his counterpart, Shri Rajnath Singh, tomorrow.

The ministers will discuss a range of issues related to defense cooperation between our countries. They are also expected to exchange views on key regional and global issues, in light of the evolving security landscape.

Defense cooperation between Italy and India gained further momentum following Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Rome in October 2023. 

Minister Crosetto’s visit to India underscores both countries’ commitment to expanding existing cooperation and exploring new areas of collaboration, particularly in the context of industrial partnership.
