“Deep sorrow for the passing of Mariangela Spedicato, Chief Warrant Officer of the Carabinieri, among the first women to serve in the Corps. Throughout her career, she was an example of balance, competence, and dedication to service, a point of reference for colleagues and citizens alike. She carried out her role with rigor and humanity, honoring every day the Institution she represented. Even in facing illness, she showed strength and dignity, leaving a profound mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Her commitment was part of a family history deeply connected to the Corps: she was the wife and sister of Carabinieri, with whom she shared the same choice of service and dedication to the State.
On my behalf and on behalf of the entire Ministry of Defence, I extend my heartfelt condolences to her loved ones, to the Commander General Salvatore Luongo, and to the entire Carabinieri Corps.” So stated the Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto.
