Minister Crosetto Visits the Celio Hospital to See Soldiers Wounded in Latvia

Defense Minister Guido Crosetto visited the “Celio” Military Hospital in Rome today to see two of the four Italian servicemembers injured in Friday’s accident in Latvia.

The minister wanted to meet with them in person, check on their condition, and convey the support of the government, the Ministry of Defense, and all the senior leadership of the Armed Forces.

“I wanted to see our service members in person and check on their condition. At times like this, I feel even more keenly the responsibility we have toward those who wear the uniform and carry out their duty, both in Italy and abroad.
Our full support goes out to them and their families, along with our best wishes for a speedy and full recovery. The Ministry of Defense is and will remain by their side.”

The Minister also expressed his gratitude to the service members for their service and for their daily commitment to serving the country.
