Minister Crosetto's visit to Israel

Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, in Tel Aviv on an official visit, met with his Israeli colleague Israel Katz.

An important meeting that reiterated Italy's commitment to foster stability in the Middle East, underscoring the importance to respect the ceasefire. 

"UNIFIL plays a fundamental role for peace, but it must be enabled to work effectively", Minister Crosetto said. He then added:"The importance of the peace process in the Gaza Strip was reiterated, and we shared our concern over the situation in Syria, which could destabilise the whole region. Renewed sympathy for the families of the hostages. We hope that they will soon be liberated".
