Minister Crosetto meets with the Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council

“An important meeting and exchange of views with Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council and a key figure in the ongoing peace negotiations. It was a significant opportunity to reaffirm our firm support even at this stage of the talks. A consistent and responsible support that Italy will continue to provide to Ukraine and its people.
The defense of freedom and international law is a responsibility shared with Europe, with the Atlantic Alliance, and with every nation that values the fate of peoples.
During the meeting, we reiterated our common determination to pursue every diplomatic avenue to build a just and lasting peace, one that respects the rights of Ukrainian citizens and the security of the continent.
