Minister Crosetto meets with the Minister of the Armed Forces of Senegal

The Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, had today a cordial and fruitful meeting with the Minister of the Armed Forces of Senegal, General Birame Diop, who expressed his country’s recognition and appreciation for the friendship and ongoing cooperation with Italy.

"The meeting," said the Minister, "was an opportunity to explore new opportunities for cooperation in the defense sector, particularly in the fields of training and education of young Senegalese military personnel, continuing the activities already underway between our Carabinieri and the Senegalese National Gendarmerie."
The discussion also focused on the possibility of intensifying the exchange of experiences in military healthcare and strengthening industrial cooperation to enhance the capabilities of the Senegalese Armed Forces in ensuring security and stability.
"This collaboration between Italy and Senegal," Minister Crosetto added, "is part of the broader framework of the Mattei Plan, a shared development and cooperation strategy based on equal partnership and mutual recognition.
The best way to help Europe is to help Africa."
