Minister Crosetto meets with Spanish colleague Margarita Robles

Defence Minister Guido Crosetto this morning met with his Spanish colleague Margarita Robles at Palazzo Esercito, in Rome.

“Very cordial meeting. We shared our visions on security and defence and valuable opportunities in new sectors of cooperation between our Armed Forces, focusing on Lebanon and UNIFIL. The latter could play a decisive role for peace and stability in the area, but requires an adjustment of its capabilities and rules of engagement. Supporting the Lebanese Armed Forces, intended as an instrument of stability for Southern Lebanon, is crucial. As regards Ukraine, we are concerned by the increase of Russian attacks against the civilian population and civilian infrastructures and the engagement of North Korean troops, which may herald an extension of the conflict”.
