"Fruitful and cordial meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, who thanked me, on behalf of his country, for Italy’s contribution to Iraq’s security.

The meeting focused on the situation in the Middle East, the security of the Strait of Hormuz, and the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
We reiterated Iraq’s crucial role in regional stability and balance, emphasizing the importance of continuing our joint commitment against Daesh terrorism and other security threats.

Italy confirms its support for Iraq, backed by the strong bond between our Armed Forces. An important collaboration that will continue even after the end of the international missions' presence in Iraq."
