Defence Minister Guido Crosetto this morning met the Defence Minister of the Republic of Argentina, Jorge Enrique Taiana, at Rome Palazzo Esercito.

“A historical deep bond ties Italy and Argentina, a second fatherland to many Italians", Minister Crosetto said during the bilateral meeting that focused on themes of common interest, including the international situation, in particular as regards the importance of South America for future global equilibria.

Talks were also an opportunity to deepen discussions and promote cooperation between the two countries in various sectors, with regard to which Argentina offered to be Italy's partner country, such as the defence industry, technology and scientific research in the Antarctica.
