Minister Crosetto inaugurates Villaggio Difesa

Minister Crosetto visited Rome Circus Maximus on the occasiono f the inauguration of Villaggio Difesa, an initiative meant to celebrate the 4th of November, National Unification and Armed Forces Day.

“This Villaggio is an invitation to join the world of the Defence. It aims to bring the Italian public closer to their Armed Forces, the bulwark of freedom and democracy as well as our institutions. Ongoing world crises remind us that deterrence and security are the necessary pre-requisites of peace and freedom”, Minister Crosetto said during the inauguration ceremony.

Over the first two hours, 7,000 people visited Villaggio Difesa! A strong participation by Italian citizens and the City of Rome. Our Tricolour marked the foreground during the solemn Raising the Flag ceremony and the enthralling fly-over of the Air Force Frecce Tricolori over the Colosseum.

“This initiative marks the start of a journey that will take us to the 4th of November, an opportunity for the citizens to meet with the Armed Forces. A precious moment to discover the beating heart of the Defence family, its personnel, the men and women who are a unique, valuable resource for our country”, Defence Minister Crosetto said.
