Minister Crosetto inaugurates the Fontana dei Leoni fountain at the Celio Military Hospital

This morning, Defense Minister Guido Crosetto inaugurated the Fontana dei Leoni fountain at the Celio Military Hospital in Rome following its restoration.

The restoration project stems from a desire to protect and enhance the city's historical heritage, restoring dignity and visibility to a monument of great value. The work involved restoring the hydraulic system and cleaning the stone materials, which had been compromised by time and exposure to the elements.

The Fountain of the Lions, an artistic testimony to the 19th century, features a large basin in travertine—the typical Roman stone—at the center of which rise two imposing overlapping cups, from which water once again flows.
