Minister Crosetto in Singapore for institutional meetings

“Important meeting with the Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Richard Marles.

Our countries share a common vision on major international strategic and security scenarios and have, in recent years, strengthened our collaboration in the Indo Pacific a region increasingly central to global geopolitical balances. I received great appreciation for the participation of Italian air and naval assets in joint exercises, such as 'Pitch Black,' which are fundamental for ensuring maximum interoperability between our Armed Forces. This presence is renewed this year with the offshore patrol vessel Giovanni delle Bande Nere, which I visited yesterday here in Singapore.

Furthermore, a strong desire to bolster bilateral defense cooperation was confirmed, within the framework of a future agreement aimed at enhancing industrial synergies between our nations.”

So stated the Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto, on the sidelines of the Shangri - La Dialogue 2026.
