The Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, in Brussels for the NATO Defense Ministers meeting.

On the sidelines of the ministerial, Minister Crosetto met with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias:

"Italy and Greece are bound by a solid and ancient friendship, and by close cooperation both within NATO and the European Union. In a complex geopolitical context, it is essential to strengthen bilateral ties between Allies, learning to operate jointly even in the military field. At the center of the discussion was the security of the broader Mediterranean, whose stability is crucial for European security and the Southern Flank of the Alliance. Among the topics addressed was the collaboration between our Armed Forces, particularly between the Naval Forces, and opportunities for cooperation in the defense industry, with a focus on naval excellence."

In Brussels, Minister Crosetto also had a fruitful meeting with his Estonian counterpart Hanno Pevkur:

"We reaffirmed that the Atlantic Alliance is the cornerstone of our collective defense and committed to taking further steps to strengthen common deterrence and defense capabilities. We delved into shared interests, including Air Defense and Integrated Missile Defense, collaboration in the field of Artificial Intelligence and automation, as well as new possible areas of cooperation in defense. On this occasion, I confirmed the dispatch of the SAMP/T system to Estonia, integrating it with our contribution to NATO Air Policing activities in the allied country. A commitment that strengthens interoperability between our Armed Forces, confirming the unity and cohesion of the Alliance to ensure collective defense at 360°."

Minister Crosetto also met with Albanian colleague Pirro Vengu: "A cordial discussion on issues of common interest, including cooperation in the defense sector, with particular attention to the defense industry and regional security. Full agreement and shared willingness to strengthen an already solid collaboration, fundamental to addressing global challenges together."
