Defence Minister Guido Crosetto has taken part, yesterday and today, in the Brussels NATO Defence Ministerial chaired by Secretary General Mark Rutte, with whom the minister had his first, productive meeting.
“Many themes on the table, hard choices, common commitment confirmed”, the minister said in the margins of the meeting. He then expanded on the themes: “In Brussels we focused on supporting the people of Ukraine, the strategic relevance of the Indo-Pacific, Middle East crises, hybrid threats and disinformation: themes that will be also deepened in Naples, during the first G7 Defence Meeting organized by Italy to tackle growing challenges to international stability”.
In the margins of the meeting, Minister Crosetto met with his Polish colleague, Wladislaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, and Hungarian colleague, Kristof Szalay-Bobrovniczky.
The bilateral meetings focused on cooperation in the Defence sector, joint industrial initiatives and strategic autonomy: essential aspect for international peace and stability.
At the end of the meeting Minister Crosetto travelled to Naples, location of the first-ever Defence Ministerial.
