On the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara, Minister Crosetto had “a very cordial and productive meeting with the UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Mohamed Bin Mubarak Bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei. We confirmed our shared determination to develop a long-term strategic partnership in the field of defence, in line with the Joint Framework Declaration signed in Rome last May and based on the strong ties of friendship between Italy and the United Arab Emirates. We also reaffirmed our commitment to promoting structured cooperation between our respective defence industries. The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on the main security issues affecting the Middle East, with particular attention to the security of the Strait of Hormuz”, said Minister Crosetto.

“At the NATO Summit, I had a cordial meeting with my Turkish counterpart, Yaşar Güler. It is always a pleasure to see a friend again, especially today after being welcomed to the new Turkish Ministry of Defence complex, an innovative and highly functional facility that he strongly promoted. Our dialogue confirms the high level of cooperation between our Armed Forces and our shared determination to strengthen and deepen our collaboration,” said Minister Guido Crosetto.

During the NATO Summit, Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto had his first opportunity to meet the United Kingdom's new Secretary of State for Defence, Dan Jarvis. “It was a pleasure to shake his hand, confident that we will continue to work closely together, as we did with his predecessors, in the interest of our common security and international stability,” said Minister Crosetto.

Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto arrived in Ankara (Türkiye) to take part in the NATO Summit and to hold a series of institutional meetings.
