“Today I held my first videoconference with my Ukrainian counterpart and Minister of Defence, Yevhenii Khmara. It was an extremely cordial meeting during which we had a lengthy and in-depth discussion on the main issues and the latest developments on the ground.We also discussed the dramatic situation facing the civilian population. The past month has been particularly difficult for Ukraine, with an extremely high number of civilian casualties.I received his heartfelt thanks for the support that Italy continues to provide to Ukraine and its people. I reiterated that we will continue to do our part, together with our allies and the international community, to support Ukraine and help create the conditions for a just and lasting peace.At the end of the meeting, we agreed to maintain constant and direct contact.” Minister Guido Crosetto.
