Minister Crosetto: Great Satisfaction with the Release of Three Israeli Hostages

"Great satisfaction with the release, after 15 months of captivity, of Romi, Emily and Doron, the three Israeli girls, hostages of Hamas. An important step forward for the still fragile truce that has just started, giving us hope for a more stable diplomatic process. Diplomacy must continue to work, as it has done so far, striving to take home all the hostages and lay the foundations for a shared peace process, able to stabilize the Middle East. Within this patient work aimed to mend the fabric of both societies, after decades of war, Italy has always been and will remain in the front row". Thus Defence Minister Guido Crosetto.
"Now - Crosetto added - we must pursue and achieve our goals with even more determination:all the hostages must come back, and it's time for the Palestinian people to rebuild houses, streets, schools, hospitals, and establish a Palestinian State legitimized by International consensus and a specific commitment to refrain from violence. Only thus we will actually foster the end of the Middle East conflict. Peace remains our priority, a durable peace allowing two peoples and two States to coexist with dignity and mutual respect".
