Minister Crosetto congratulated General Abagnara as newly appointed UNIFIL Commander

UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has announced today the appointment of Major General Diodato Abagnara of the Italian army as Commander of UNIFIL. 
"This is a position of significant responsibility in a pivotal region, and it is a testament to the crucial role Italy plays within the international community during these times of tension and crisis. Our country reaffirms its commitment to being a guarantor of peace and security, and we are committed to strengthening our efforts to promote stability in the Middle East.
