"Preserving memory is a duty towards the victims of the Shoah and a responsibility towards future generations.
Remembering also means being vigilant, aware of the abyss that opens up when hatred meets indifference. 
The Ministry of Defence commemorates the victims and honours their history in the certainty that preserving their memory is not merely an exercise in looking back at the past, but a commitment to the present and a promise for the future." Thus spoke Minister Guido Crosetto on Remembrance Day.
