"The videoconference meeting of the E5 Defense Group (France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and the United Kingdom), in which I participated, was a significant opportunity to reinforce our shared vision of a stronger Europe within a stronger NATO, in support of collective defense and Euro-Atlantic security. The discussion on a shared strategy to strengthen Europe’s contribution to the Alliance, within the framework of transatlantic relations, was fundamental.
In an increasingly complex international context, we reaffirm that Russia represents the most serious and enduring threat to Euro-Atlantic security. For this reason, we continue to strengthen our defense capabilities and our role within NATO. The upcoming Ankara Summit will be an important opportunity to promote a more equitable burden-sharing among Allies, while continuing our joint efforts to strengthen coordination and support for Ukraine, in defense of our collective security." So said Minister Guido Crosetto.
