The Council of Ministers, on proposal from Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, approved the appointment of Lieutenant General Giovanni Maria Iannucci as Commander-Joint Operations Headquarters.
“This is an important milestone from both the personal and professional point of view, that comes at an especially delicate time in history. With General Iannucci in the position of Head of Cabinet, I have been able to appreciate the very high level of professionalism and the effective, forward-looking management of complex challenges implemented by the Ministry. I am confident that, thanks to his unquestionable competence, expertise and strategic vision, he will show as much determination in his new assignment, sparing no effort and making the contribution to national stability and international security provided by the Italian Defence even more significant.
