
Lebanon: Aid from the Defence delivered to displaced people in Southern Lebanon

Foodstuffs, but also medical material and items of daily use allowing displaced people in Lebanon’s southern border area to cope with the consequences of the conflict that has been going on for a year.
A few days after the agreement on the ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, Italian military from UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) delivered aid to the heads of Tyre Crisis Management Unit at Jabal Amel hospital, in the district of the same name, and representatives of the municipality of Beint Jubayl.
Italy received the gratitude of the actors involved in this initiative, implemented thanks to the cooperation between the Defence Joint Operations Command and the Civil-Military Cooperation Team of UNIFIL Italian Contingent.
Assisting the civilian population is one of the main tasks assigned to the Italian Contingent of UNIFIL, according to Resolution 1701 of the United Nations Security Council.
