Italy-Greece Intergovernmental Summit: Minister Crosetto signs agreement with Greek counterpart Dendias

Today, at Rome Villa Pamphili, the ceremony for the exchange of the Bilateral Agreement between Italy and Greece has taken place in the presence of President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, within the framework of the Intergovernmental Summit between the two countries.

On this occasion, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto and Greek Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias signed a cooperation agreement.

“During the Italy-Greece Intergovernmental Summit I and my colleague Nikos Dendias have signed and Agreement on Air Space Control, against threats of non-military nature. Within a complex geopolitical context like the present one, strengthening the cooperation between our two nations is of fundamental importance to promote stability and security in the Enlarged Mediterranean and, as a consequence, Europe as a whole”, Minister Crosetto said.

“On the occasion of the Italy-Greece Intergovernmental Summit I had a cordial meeting with my colleague Nikos Dendias. Our countries share a solid friendship and close cooperation, within both NATO and the EU. The current geopolitical scenario requires to further strengthen this bond, promoting unity and cohesion at the international level. We focused on stability in the Enlarged Mediterranean, a central element for European security and, more in general, for the Southern Flank and Africa. Themes of discussion included cooperation between our Armed Forces, in particular with regard to training, and in the Defence industry sector”, the Minister concluded.
