Training course for the Djibouti Armed Forces

The Military Police Course conducted by the Carabinieri stationed with the Italian Training Mission (MIADIT) in Somalia has kicked off. The training course in favour of the Djibouti Armed Forces (FAD) is attended by 30 FAD members. The course was inaugurated in the presence of Col. Luciano Calabrò, Mission Commander, and Col. Hassan Daher Abadid, Commander FAD.
During the 7-week course attendees will receive basic training on military combat, including classes on tactical progression and combat activities in an urban environment; then, the focus will be on police intervention techniques and traffic control, including on-the-spot investigation and surveying activities in case of road accidents. Within this specific training course, classes will also be dedicated to security and protection of institutional authorities, infrastructures and sensitive documents.
Teaching of the sensitive tasks implemented by the Military Police in the national territory was assigned to the 2nd Mobile Brigade of the Carabinieri, in Particular 1st Regiment Parachutists- Tuscania: over the last few years the Regiment was engaged in international theatres to conduct Military Police activities.
