Italian Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto met with the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda.

During a cordial and constructive meeting, Minister Crosetto renewed to President Nausėda the Italian Government’s appreciation for the strength of the friendship and cooperation that unite Italy and Lithuania.

The meeting represented an important opportunity to strengthen bilateral dialogue in the field of security and defence, in an international context marked by growing tensions and global challenges.

During the talks, several issues of current relevance and mutual interest were discussed, including cooperation in the defence industry, support for Ukraine, and the strengthening of European defence as a complementary and integrated pillar of NATO.

“It was a valuable meeting,” said Minister Crosetto, “which confirms our countries’ shared commitment to continue working together, in a spirit of loyal cooperation, for the security of the continent and the development of a European defence that is increasingly cohesive, technologically advanced, and credible.”

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Italy–Lithuania Defence Industry Forum, an event dedicated to enhancing industrial and technological cooperation between the two countries in the field of security and defence.
