First medal for the Italian Defence Paralympic Sports Group at the 6th Invictus Games currently taking place in Dusseldorf (Germany).

“Congratulations, Brigadier General Roberto Como, for your gold medal in the 1,500 metre Men’s Race”, Defence Minister Minister Guido Crosetto said, underscoring the athlete’s victory.

The Invictus Games, which started today and will end on 16 September, is an international paralympic sports event. The 6th edition will see the participation of 21 nations, competing in archery, athletics, cycling, indoor rowing, sitting volley ball, swimming, table tennis, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby competitions.

The Italian Team, made up of 16 athletes from the Armed Forces and Defence Ministry civilian personnel, is led by Brigadier General Roberto Como.
