Defence Minister Guido Crosetto’s message for the International Women’s Day reads as follows:
“Women of the Defence, on the occasion of International Women’s Day I would like to thank you for the every day job that you carry out discreetly, away from the spotlight. Let me express my personal gratitude for the contribution you provide to the security of our country and the effectiveness of our institutions, with enthusiasm, passion, sensitivity and professionalism.
You are fundamental not only for the Defence, but for the Country, when you deploy in Italy and abroad within the framework of international missions and peace operations to help the weak, those who experience the tragedy of conflicts, while dreaming of a better future.
It is not just a question of competence and responsibility, but also the ability to tackle challenges and contribute to the activities of the Armed Forces with determination, perseverance and spirit of service.
Women of the Defence, you also have a further responsibility: inspire the new generations who would like to follow o your track, to serve the country, and guide our actions toward a future made out of respect, professionalism and collaboration.
Happy International Women’s Day to you, the Women of Defence, and to all the women”.
