Sentinels of the coast. Lights that do not dazzle, but guide.
Lighthouses are invaluable landmarks for those who face the sea at night.
Since 1911, the Italian Navy has ensured the operation of the maritime signaling network: 147 lighthouses and over 700 beacons along our coasts.
A constant commitment to the safety of navigation.
Today, on International Lighthouse Day, we celebrate those who keep these lights alive.
Silent watchtowers. Anchors of light.
Their strength? Remaining visible, unmoving, and steadfast even when all around is darkness.
Another face of the Defense’s mission.
