“On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, our thought go in particular to the staff of the Veterans’ Centre and Defence Paralympic Sports Group, and to all those who bear the mark of their sacrifice and dedication to our country. Thank you, all of you. You are an extraordinary example of how it is possible to perceive disabilities as a challenge to be tackled with bravery and determination, rather than a limit, transforming misfortune into an opportunity. Along this rather difficult path, the big family of the Defence supports and stays side by side its personnel. No one will be left behind”.
Thus Defence Minister Guido Crosetto on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The Defence has always been sensitive to the theme of disability.
The Defence Veterans’ Centre, under the leadership of the Institute of Biomedical Science, was established by decree of the Defence Minister on 23 April 2019, to provide assistance and support to the veterans.
